What a week

Well, for starters, Temenos was good to me this past Sunday. We did have a cobalt mithril sheet drop, but someone else won it. However, it did put out not one but two scarlet odoshi, meaning I'll have a pair of Myochin Haidate +1 this Sunday. :) But the fun doesn't stop there. Dhalmels, ponies, 3-headed dogs and fulminations, oh my!


Fast-forward to Tuesday, which also happened to be my birthday. After a nice dinner with the family and the obligatory cake-cutting, I return just in time for a rousing Dynamis-Buburimu sortie. We had initially planned to hit Tavnazia, but we didn't have enough who were cleared.

So, sixteen of us convened outside the gate to Mhaura and we were ready to begin. A select few went inside ahead of everyone to get us our subjobs. Fortunately the ??? was easily located and we had our subjobs within seconds of entering. After the dragons and the mega boss were out of the way, it was time to farm. So off we went to slay copious amounts of efts, cockatrices and dhalmels. What do we get from one of our giraffe-like friends? Why, none other than a Mirage Mantle!


Needless to say I was over the moon after this. 6/6 on BLU AF2, happening on my birthday no less. Happy birthday indeed!

So Thursday, we decided to hit up some VNM's. When we popped into Jugner in the past, one of us happened upon this purple fellow.



Holy shit! Dark Ixion, up and unclaimed! What luck! Well, someone from Volume happened to spot him too and scared him off. So after a few job changes, a few of our RNGs scanned all possible areas tracking him down to the southern portion of East Ronfaure. So once we were situated, we claimed and got right to work. No I didn't get off any good Cannonballs since I was SAM/THF for that fight. I'm kinda kicking myself for not being on BLU/THF but I guess I was too lazy to re-gear. Oh well. After a few charges, acheron kicks and God knows what else, we managed to fell the purple pony for the first time as a linkshell. Aside from maybe one or two people, it was everyone's first time. Of course Volume saw the whole thing and someone remarked "Enjoy your last DI" or something to that effect. Another group was nearby fighting a VNM and they lost to it then Volume took it. But hey, we got full drops, so it's all good.


So last night found us beating on a few Sarameyas. Sadly none of them yielded a Hachiryu Haidate. So after a few job changes, it was off to the deathtrap that is Hediva Isle to go a couple rounds with ol' Tyger. THIS time I was on BLU/THF, dutifully shooting off cannonballs to make up for the lack thereof the night before with Ixion. Unfortunately, the elusive 2k+ eludes me once again as my highest ended up being around 1942 last night. It's really driving me nuts since my highest on record has been 1989, and that was on Byakko over a year ago. And I didn't have quite as much as I do now. Oh well. At any rate, both pops belonged to our resident zeni nut Amarok, who, bless his heart, said he'd freelot the aurum body to those that could use it. Lo and behold, Tyger #2 puts out the goods. I'll admit I was somewhat shocked that I actually won. My DRG now has an honest-to-god 6-hit! This means I don't need a rose strap for said job. I'll still get one for SAM, since I can get within 0.6% of haste cap when subbing DRG. Huge thanks to Amarok and the rest of Beyond.
